About Four Walls:
Four Walls CTEC is located at 1125 Neal Street, NE, Washington DC 20002 (Ward 5). All of our services are provided on-site. The hours of operation for students are 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Total square footage is 13,821, which is dispersed across two floors. The building is accessible via Metro bus and at the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro stop. The first floor of the building is handicap accessible. Four Walls provides all of the equipment necessary for program completion.
The Careers Unlimited classrooms are fully equipped. The National External Diploma Suite is comprised of two offices where individual appointments are held. These offices are equipped with computers for appointments with students. Evening appointments for students who work during the day can be held in the Careers Unlimited classrooms. The Occupational Literacy Construction Trades Programs occupy the second floor. Each classroom is equipped with essential trade tools for construction for entry level and beyond employment.
Program Goals:
- Identify strengths and address individual barriers to self-sufficiency among program participants through individual-centered methods, as evidenced by the completion of individualized assessments and the creation of Individual Student Profiles (ISPs).
- Improve basic and workplace literacy skills as measured by participants’ advancement of at least one educational functioning level on the CASAS, Post-tests, the attainment of a high school diploma, or preparation/entrance into a post-secondary education program.
- Prepare participants for competitive employment in one of the region’s high demand occupational sectors, the Construction industry, as evidenced by students’ attainment of industry-recognized certifications, internships, mentorships, apprenticeships, job-shadowing opportunities, and employment placements and/ or promotions.
